This new Sport England fund opened on 6 July, providing funding from £50,000 to £500,000 for projects lasting up to four years. You may apply for less than £50,000 if you’re confident your project can make a significant contribution in supporting families to be active together. The Round One budget is £10m.
The particular emphasis for this round of funding is on families in lower socioeconomic groups. What they want to achieve from this investment:
Increase activity levels of families in lower socio-economic groups with children aged 5 to 15
Support families to be active together throughout the week
Deliver positive experiences.
We noted when skimming through the prospectus:
You do not have to be a registered charity to apply
All organisations that they invest in will need to meet the appropriate tier of their Code for Sports Governance by the time an award is made.
They encourage applicants to explore the opportunities available for partnership funding.
TIP: The prospectus for this fund has interesting insights and is a useful read for organisations that do not have the capacity to apply but are working, or want to work, with young people through sport and physical activity.
Deadline: 3pm on 31 August 2017 for expressions of interest
